Crystal D. McLean is a native of Fayetteville, North Carolina. She is an alumnus of Fayetteville State University, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Banking and Finance. With over 10 years of experience in the banking industry, Crystal has dedicated her career to promoting financial literacy and empowering individuals to develop healthy money habits. Currently serving as the CDFI Program Manager, Crystal ensures the deployment of capital to small businesses, promoting economic empowerment within her community. Crystal's passion for educating youth about financial literacy led her to teach over 2,000 children both virtually and in-person. She has conducted workshops, seminars, and classes on money management for children, adults, and communities, totaling over 50 engagements. Crystal has collaborated with more than 30 organizations, schools, universities, and churches to deliver impactful lessons on money management.Recognized for her outstanding commitment to mentoring and financial education, Crystal received the prestigious 2021 Mentor of the Year award from ACHI Magazine. This notable accolade acknowledges her exemplary dedication to guiding and inspiring others.In addition to her teaching and mentoring endeavors, Crystal is also an accomplished author. She has authored two international best-selling financial literacy children's books, "Harmoney & the Empty Piggybank" and "No No Sonny, Save That Money." These books serve as invaluable resources for children to develop a solid foundation in financial literacy from an early age. Crystal's expertise and passion have garnered media attention, with appearances on CBS News, IBronco Radio, Fayetteville Observer, and various podcasts and media outlets. Through these platforms, she has shared her knowledge and insights, spreading the message of financial empowerment far and wide. As a proud supporter of her community, Crystal actively engages in numerous volunteer and charitable organizations. Her personal experience as a single mother inspired her to be resourceful and strategic with her finances, fueling her desire to assist others on their financial journey. Now as a wife and Youth Pastor alongside her husband, Brandon McLean, Crystal seeks to inspire youth not only financially but also spiritually. Crystal's ultimate goal is to empower individuals to apply the financial tools and knowledge they acquire.
